One of the oldest Law Firms in Cyprus, Chr. P. Mitsides &
Co LLC was established in 1923 by Christos P. Mitsides
(1900-1972) of Bella Pais, Kyrenia. It is now in the hands
of the fourth generation of lawyers in the family.
Its original location was at 3 London Street, in the
heart of Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus, in what was
then known as Serai Square. It was very near the old
District Court of Nicosia which now lies in Nicosia’s
occupied part. The office was relocated in 1963 after the
inter-communal strife, to 2 Methonis Street, were it is
still located today, almost opposite of the office of the
Registrar of Companies.
The firm used to be a registered partnership pursuant to
the provisions of the Partnership Law. In 2009, and keeping
in line with the statutory developments of the time, the
firm was registered as a Lawyers’ Company pursuant to the
provisions of the Advocates Law, Cap. 2 and the Companies
Law, Cap. 113. The partners, as well as all members of the
firm are members of the Cyprus Bar Association which is the
regulatory body governing the licensing and operation of
legal practitioners in Cyprus.
The firm has a long standing tradition in the legal world
of Cyprus, and over time it has expanded from offering
litigation services and legal advice, to also providing
corporate services, administration services, tax advice,
financial advice, estate planning, real estate advice,
fiduciary services, and many more. The firm also prides
itself in that it has made and continues to make significant
contributions in creating legal precedents, especially (but
not limited to) the fields of corporate and commercial law
in Cyprus. The outstanding achievements of the firm
culminated in its win of the internationally prestigious
Corporate INTL Global Awards in 2012.
The firm also has a long standing tradition in
international business. Its clientele includes several
foreign and multinational companies operating in Cyprus, as
well as Cypriot companies with activities abroad which the
firm assists in the most important jurisdictions.
